Reduced manual sales errors 20% by replacing spreadsheet workflows with a live platform

Context
Toyota Lanka wanted to test a mobility platform quickly, so the MVP was built on WordPress with custom data modules.
Problem
Sales and pricing data lived in spreadsheets, so pricing was inconsistent and reconciliation was manual.
My role
Project assistant / developer on the MVP, working with the sales team and third-party developers.
Constraints
- WordPress-based stack chosen before I joined
- MVP had to ship fast to validate demand
- Third-party developers owned parts of the codebase
What I did
My contribution
- Supporting work: built and integrated the MySQL modules behind real-time sales operations
- Supporting work: validated requirements with the sales team before implementation
- Supporting work: debugged and hardened features with third-party developers
Owned by the wider team
- Theme and page build were handled by the external WordPress vendor
- Business sign-off sat with the Toyota Lanka marketing team
What I'd do differently
- The WordPress base limited us — I would have pushed for the modular architecture (which became 2.0) at the MVP stage.
